It's offish...
I think I've offish identified my #1 pet peeve: people who drive with no awareness of what's happening around them.
You know these people. These are the people who drive really slowly in a parking lot, and randomly break, and sit there, so you have no idea what they're doing. These are the people who move over to the left hand side of the road in order to make a right hand turn. These are the people who don't signal. These are the people who don't let you in when you're merging. These are the people who drive in the fast lane and don't move over when someone is clearly trying to pass them. These are the people who stop at a corner when there's no stop sign, or it's their right of way. These are the people who suddenly slow down on a side street, but don't signal that they're doing anything, and then randomly pull over to the side of the road after making you wait behind them for 5 minutes while you're growing more and more frustrated tyring to determine if they're head has been pulled firmly out of their @ss or if there's still part of it wedged up there.
These are the people I can't stand. And these are ALWAYS the people I end up behind on the road.

Oh. My. God. You share my road rage! This is my hugest pet peeve. I would add: people who refuse to keep up with the flow of traffic, and end up preventing everyone behind them from getting places. People who meander across lanes without signalling or even looking.
Also, in a different category: people who think that two feeder lanes in a fast food line = competition, rather than alternating entries.
A close #2 for me would be pedestrians who walk with no awareness of what is happening around them - you know. Stopping in large groups in a doorway. Cutting you off when you're walking down the mall. Jaywalking in 5pm traffic. Generally being in the way. I find this is the worst at big box stores and universities.
Oh my god, yes. FS can attest to my irritation with bad walkers. In high school we had 2 minutes to get from one class to another, and we weren't allowed to carry backpacks. It was a big school = big rush. And there were always these idiots in our packed hallways who would stop and talk to their buddies, blocking the ONE WEE PATH through the crowds.
I could get pretty pushy if I wanted to.
Also irritating, people who don't move to the back of the bus, creating a log jam at the front with eons of space left at the back. And people who shop at SuperStore and No Frills. They are the WORST cart drivers ever.
I am so with you ladies on this. Both in walking and on the road. I think there should be designated walking lanes in malls and sidewalks along the lines of what the road should be.
I deplore driving in So ON with these horrible drivers. It is worse when the road is two lanes on either side. People completely ignore that the LEFT LANE IS ALWAYS THE PASSING LANE. I admitt, i am a high beam flasher but seriously think that is the only way some people learn and don't appreciate the dirty looks
Just adding - cell phone talkers who merge on to the highway at 60 km/hr, oblivious to their surroundings. Aghhhhh....
Thanks LL I feel better.
